Katie Comfort
Katie Comfort grew up in an unincorporated area just outside of Portland, Oregon. It was here that she began her lifelong interest in people who are considered the "other". She started riding public transportation in high school when she wanted to assert her independence but was too skittish to learn how to drive. Her interest in public transportation was enhanced when she moved to Chicago, IL for college and was introduced the the EL Line.
She is graduating in May with a double major in conflict transformation studies and sociology. Most of her classes relate in some way to Palestine, the Middle East, or systematic inequality.
As the end of college nears, Katie is more seriously considering a career as a social justice comedian and getting her drivers license, but will probably just move to Palestine instead.
